What: Temporary Traffic Order to close the road for essential Ash Dieback tree work.
Where A419 - Cowcombe Hill, Stroud
When: 22-25th April 2025 inclusive (excluding weekends) from 09.30 to 15.30 daily.
Gloucestershire County Council are conducting essential works at the above location to remove unsafe trees infected with Ash Dieback.
Ash Dieback disease causes Ash trees to become unsafe; trees could shed limbs or collapse on to the road causing harm and injury. This work must take place for health and safety reasons, to protect road users and pedestrians, and make sure the carriageway remains clear of debris.
ACCESS
In accordance with the Temporary Traffic Order, we are not permitted to allow any person or vehicle
to proceed along the closed roads; the exception being emergency vehicles or statutory undertakers
responding to an emergency. We will endeavor to always keep the public foot path open, if it is
necessary to close it at any point it will be for a limited time and fully supervised by our trained banks
man.
***During this period, 22-25th April 2025 inclusive, there will be NO through access from Stroud to
Cirencester using the A419. Essential Ash Dieback work is to be completed on A419 Cowcombe…
Hill between the A419 junction with High Street, Chalford and the A419 roundabout at Aston Down
Airfield/ Cirencester Road junction. We will operate a rolling closure between cutting locations.……

From 25/03/2025 to 16/08/2025 the roads listed in the schedule will be subject to temporary traffic orders. Advanced warning of dates to be displayed by signs on site. The proposed programme dates are as listed on the schedule.
• Spring Lane, Thrupp
This road will be closed (see map above) from 27/05/2025 for one day between the hours of 0930 – 1530 to allow for pole replacement works by Openreach.
Emergency and pedestrian access will be maintained.
